Avery’s roots in Illinois run deep - she and her husband Aaron and son Marshall live in the same farmhouse her family settled in nearly 150 years ago. Avery and her husband both grew up in farming families. They know the value of hardwork and understand the sacrifice that generations before them have made to pass on the farm better than they found it. This legacy of working to make life better for the next generation is what motivated Avery to pursue public service.
She watched as many in her generation chose to leave the state - looking for better opportunities, good jobs, and more affordable lifestyles. Rather than leaving, Avery chose to stay and fight. She worked for leaders who shared her values of life, limited government, supporting local schools, and serving the people. After working for leaders like former State Representative Wayne Rosenthal, Congressman Rodney Davis, and Congressman John Shimkus, Avery decided it was time for her to step up and join the fight by running for office. She saw that we needed a new generation of conservative leaders to fight the old way of doing business in Springfield.
Avery’s approach to government is simple:
Put taxpayers first by cutting spending, paying off debt, and balancing the budget
Stick to core, basic functions like high quality, locally-controlled schools, well-maintained roads and
bridges, and keeping our communities safe by making sure law enforcement has the support they
Protect our Constitutional rights and freedoms, including the right to life and the 2nd Amendment
Hold politicians accountable with term limits, fair maps, and tough ethics rules
That’s why, in the legislature, Avery has opposed reckless, unbalanced budgets, attempts to limit our Second Amendment rights, and a radical expansion of late-term, taxpayer-funded abortion. Avery has sponsored bills to increase funding for our local schools and bring more economic development tools to rural areas. She stands up for our shared conservative rural values every day.
But, the fight is not over. Democrats in the supermajority will stop at nothing to pass their radical far-left policies. Avery is running for State Representative to keep up the fight against Mike Madigan and the Democratic majority. Join Avery as she fights for our values in Springfield.
